  • Lucy image

    Lucy Barnes FNP

Lucy Barnes has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for almost 2 years and treats patients full-time at Health Care on the Go. “As a family nurse practitioner, I have been trained to treat the whole family, from infancy to the elderly. This means I can assess, diagnose, and treat most conditions that come into the clinic. I also know that patients with complex conditions sometimes need to see a physician or a specialist.”

Lucy began her nursing career as an LPN eighteen years ago. She worked in hospitals as a Licensed Practical Nurse mainly focusing her time on obtaining her Associate Degree of Nursing from East Central Community College in 2010 . She initially worked at the Specialty Hospital – Meridian & the Crossroads River Oaks Hospital out of Jackson & Brandon, MS respectively. In 2011, she began to work in the home health field with Deaconess Home Care out of Meridian, MS as a Transitional Liaison Professional. Also, during this time she also worked at the Meridian Community Living Center as a weekend charge nurse.

Lucy always knew that she wanted to be a nurse from a young age. Another reason she leaned towards nursing was because her mom was very ill, and she wanted to have the ability to help her mother feel better. Lucy has a great passion for showing love & helping other people. In the fall of 2016, she began her path to gaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Mississippi University of Women in Columbus, MS. She is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Association of Diabetic Care & Education Specialists.

Lucy and her husband William have 3 children and reside here in the Meridian area. She enjoys participating in outdoor activities such as planting flowers, fishing, taking walks, spending time with her family, & traveling.
